Bangalore to Chikmagalur to Madikeri Nature Itinerary - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri Peak
    3 hours 32 minutes (155.6 km) from Bangalore

    Visit the highest peak in Karnataka, Mullayanagiri, and witness the breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. Start your morning early for a 3-hour drive from Bangalore to Chikmagalur. The 3-km trek to the peak through the forest takes around 2 hours. Enjoy the panoramic views of the valley from the top. After lunch, head to the nearby Baba Budangiri hills to explore the beautiful Manikyadhara and Hebbe waterfalls. In the evening, relax at your hotel in Chikmagalur.

  2. Day 2: Kemmanagundi and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary
    2 hours 5 minutes (62.6 km) from Chikmagalur

    Visit Kemmanagundi, a picturesque hill station with lush greenery and beautiful gardens. Take a walk around the Hebbe Falls and visit the Z Point for an amazing sunset view. Take a walk around the coffee estates and learn about the coffee-making process. After lunch, head to Raja's Seat, a scenic spot with a garden and fountains. Enjoy the sunset view from the spot. In the evening, explore the local market and indulge in some shopping at Madikeri.

  4. Day 4: Dubare Elephant Camp and Nisargadhama
    2 hours 15 minutes (81.6 km) from Madikeri

    Drive to the Dubare Elephant Camp, a natural home to elephants situated on the banks of the river Cauvery. Watch the elephants bathe and feed them. You can also enjoy coracle rides and river rafting. After lunch, head to the Nisargadhama, a beautiful island formed by the river Cauvery. Spend some time in the quiet and serene surroundings. Drive back to Bangalore in the evening.
