  • Day 1: Exploring Shibuya and Harajuku in Tokyo

Transportation

For transportation, we suggest getting a 14-day Japan Rail Pass to utilise all train lines at a reasonable cost. Local transportation fare can be paid with Pasmo or Suica Cards, which are also rechargeable in case you need more. A 14-day Rail pass costs approximately $420 per person, and a Pasmo Card costs $20.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can add a day trip to Nikko National Park, where you can find Toshogu Shrine, and a day trip to Kamakura, where you can see the Great Buddha Statue. If you have less time, try to plan your itinerary according to your interests or spend your time relaxing on one of Tokyo's Onsen resorts.

Airports

Tokyo has two major airports: Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) and Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND). Haneda is closer to the city centre, located 14km away, while Narita is about 60km away. Osaka has one international airport, Kansai International (KIX), located approximately 50km south of the city.
