Velana International Airport (MLE) is the main airport serving the Maldives, located on Hulhule Island, southwest of the capital city. The airport is well-connected to major cities around the world, with frequent flights from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. As the airport is located on an island, visitors need to connect to their respective resort islands by speedboat or seaplane, which are readily available at the airport. The airport is approximately 2.5 miles from the city center.
