3-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Kerala in May 2024

  1. Day 1: Kochi
    35 minutes (20.5 km) from Cochin International Airport

    Start your day at Fort Kochi, a historic neighbourhood with charming colonial buildings, quaint cafes and art galleries. Take a leisurely stroll along the promenade to catch a glimpse of the iconic Chinese fishing nets. Visit the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and the nearby Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica, an architectural marvel. For lunch, head to the iconic Hotel Brunton Boatyard, which serves a delectable spread of seafood. Spend the afternoon exploring the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, and the Jewish Synagogue. End your day at the Marine Drive, a picturesque stretch of walkway by the backwaters, perfect for an evening stroll.

  2. Day 2: Munnar
    4 hours 30 minutes (130 km) from Kochi

Stop for lunch at one of the many floating restaurants that serve fresh seafood. Spend the afternoon exploring the Alleppey Beach, known for its pristine sandy shores and swaying palms. End your day with a visit to the Punnamada Lake, where the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race is held.

If you have time, consider visiting the Athirapally Falls, a breathtaking waterfall that is located 80 km from Kochi.
