Banaras to Rishikesh 5-day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Manikarnika Ghat
    1 hour 15 minutes (8.9 km) from Banaras

    In the morning, visit Manikarnika Ghat, one of the oldest and most sacred ghats in Varanasi. Witness the rituals and ceremonies performed by locals. In the afternoon, explore the narrow lanes of the old city and visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, attend the mesmerizing Ganga aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat.

  2. Day 2: Sarnath
    1 hour (11.1 km) from Varanasi

    In the morning, travel to Sarnath, where Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Visit the Dhamek Stupa, the Chaukhandi Stupa, and the Sarnath Museum.     In the morning, travel to Rishikesh, known as the 'Yoga Capital of the World'. Visit the Beatles Ashram, where the famous band stayed in the 1960s and meditate at one of the many ashrams located in the city. In the afternoon, explore the local markets and try some delicious local cuisine. In the evening, attend the Ganga aarti ceremony at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

Consider taking a side trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. You can also try white water rafting in Rishikesh or take a cable car to the top of the Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar.
