Nainital Nature Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Naini Lake
    12 minutes (2.3 km) from Nainital Bus Stand

    In the morning, take a boat ride in the scenic Naini Lake. Enjoy the picturesque views of the surrounding hills and the calm waters. Visit the Naina Devi Temple located on the northern shore of the lake in the afternoon. In the evening, relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the lake.

  2. Day 2: Eco Cave Gardens
    10 minutes (1.8 km) from Naini Lake

    Start your day with a visit to the Eco Cave Gardens, a natural park with interconnected rocky caves and hanging gardens. Explore the different caves and admire the unique rock formations. In the afternoon, head to the Kilbury Bird Sanctuary, located about 45 minutes (12 km) from the gardens. This sanctuary is home to various bird species and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. In the evening, head back to Nainital and enjoy a leisurely walk along the Mall Road.

  3. Day 3: Tiffin Top and Snow View Point
    25 minutes (5.5 km) from Naini Lake

    Start your day early and head to Tiffin Top, also known as Dorothy's Seat, a popular viewpoint located on Ayarpatta Hill. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas and the town of Nainital. In the afternoon, head to the Snow View Point, located about 20 minutes (3.5 km) from the Tiffin Top. Take the cable car ride to the top and admire the snow-capped peaks of Nanda Devi, Trisul, and Nanda Kot. In the evening, return to Nainital and indulge in some local shopping.

Recommendations

Other local attractions that you might consider are the Himalayan Darshan, a peak offering excellent views of the Himalayas, and the Naina Peak, the highest peak in Nainital providing panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains. You can also take a day trip to the Bhimtal Lake located about 30 minutes (20 km) from Nainital or visit the Corbett National Park, located about 2.5 hours (62 km) from Nainital, to spot some wildlife. Do not forget to try out the local cuisine and shop for souvenirs to take back home.
