2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Goa, Gokarna, Hampi and Ooty

  1. Day 1: Goa
    4 hours (217 km) from Bangalore
    • Morning: Visit the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. You can hike to the falls or take a jeep safari through the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.

  2. Day 2: Gokarna

    • Afternoon: Try your hand at surfing at Kudle Beach, which is known for its beginner-friendly waves.
    • Evening: Take a stroll to the Mahabaleshwar Temple, a 4th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and witness the evening aarti.
  3. Day 3: Hampi

  4. Day 4: Ooty

    • Morning: Visit the Ooty Lake, a popular spot for boating and horse-riding.
    • Afternoon: Take a ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the steepest railway tracks in Asia.
    • Evening: Enjoy a serene and peaceful walk in the beautiful Botanical Gardens, which boasts of a wide variety of plants and trees.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day in Goa, you can visit the Aguada Fort, the Chapora Fort or the Reis Magos Fort, all of which offer stunning views of the Arabian Sea. You can also try kayaking or paddleboarding in the calm waters of the Mandovi River.

In Gokarna, you can opt for a boat ride to Half Moon Beach, Paradise Beach and other secluded beaches along the coast. You can also take a yoga class or indulge in Ayurvedic massages and treatments.

If you are interested in history, you can visit the Vittala Temple and the Royal Enclosure in Hampi, which are known for their intricate carvings and architecture. You can also go bouldering or rock climbing in the nearby hills.

In Ooty, you can visit the Doddabetta Peak, which is the highest point in the Nilgiri Mountains, or take a trip to the nearby tea plantations. You can also go trekking in the surrounding hills or visit the tribal villages to learn about their culture and traditions.

Make sure to carry comfortable clothes and footwear, sunscreen, hats and sunglasses, as it can get quite hot and humid in these regions in June. Always carry a water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the day.
