Take a day trip to the surrounding villages of Gaurikund, Guptkashi and Triyuginarayan. Gaurikund is the base camp for the trek to Kedarnath and has hot water springs. Guptkashi has ancient temples and Triyuginarayan has a scenic temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
The Tungnath trek is a beautiful hike with stunning views of the Himalayas. Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is located at an altitude of 3,680 meters. Spend the evening in Chopta, also known as the mini Switzerland of India.
Visit the Badrinath Temple which is one of the four sacred shrines in Hinduism. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located on the banks of the Alaknanda River. Spend the evening exploring the local markets and trying out the street food.
Spend the day enjoying the scenic drive back to Sonprayag with stops at beautiful viewpoints along the way. Stop at Rudraprayag to see the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. In the evening, relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel.
If you have an extra day, you can visit the Valley of Flowers which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also go on a rafting trip on the Alaknanda River or try out other adventure activities in the surrounding areas. Make sure to carry warm clothes as the temperature can drop in the evenings and at high altitudes.
