Four-Day Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Baga Beach
30 minutes (12.5 km) from Dabolim Airport

Start your day with a refreshing dip in the sea and feel the sand between your toes. Baga Beach is one of the most popular beaches in North Goa, and for good reason. You can rent a sunbed and umbrella for a small fee, and there are plenty of beach shacks serving delicious seafood and local drinks. In the afternoon, take a short walk to the nearby Saturday Night Market where you can shop for souvenirs, clothes, and handicrafts. In the evening, enjoy the vibrant nightlife of the area with a visit to one of the many bars and clubs.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
2 hours (69 km) from Baga Beach

Embark on a scenic road trip to the magnificent Dudhsagar Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. The falls are located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park and are best visited during the monsoon season when the water flow is at its peak. You can take a dip in the cool waters and enjoy a picnic lunch on the rocks. On your way back, stop by the Tambdi Surla Temple, a small 12th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

  3. Day 3: Fontainhas
30 minutes (14 km) from Dudhsagar Falls

Take a relaxing walk through the charming Latin Quarter of Fontainhas. This area is filled with colorful Portuguese-style houses and narrow streets that lead to hidden cafes, art galleries, and antique shops. Start your morning with a cup of coffee and a croissant at one of the French bakeries, followed by a visit to the famous Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Sao Tome neighborhood, which is known for its street art and vibrant cultural scene. In the evening, head to Panaji, the capital city of Goa, for a dinner of local cuisine.

  4. Day 4: Anjuna Flea Market
30 minutes (13 km) from Fontainhas

End your trip with a visit to the famous Anjuna Flea Market, which takes place every Wednesday. This market is a shopper's paradise, with stalls selling everything from clothes and jewelry to handicrafts and spices. You can also sample local street food and enjoy live music performances. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Vagator Beach where you can relax and soak in the sun. In the evening, take a sunset cruise along the Mandovi River and enjoy the stunning views of the Goan coastline.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the historic Fort Aguada, taking a spice plantation tour, or trying your luck at one of the many casinos in the area. You can also take a day trip to South Goa to explore the beautiful beaches and colonial architecture. To maximize your fun, rent a scooter or motorcycle and explore Goa at your own pace. Don't forget to try the local cuisine, especially seafood and vindaloo curry. Finally, make sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen as the weather can get quite hot and humid in June.
