Three-Day Itinerary for Araku Valley in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Borra Caves
    45 minutes (18.5 km) from Araku Valley

    In the morning, visit the Borra Caves which are famous for their million-year-old stalagmite and stalactite formations. Take a guided tour through the caves to learn about its history. In the afternoon, enjoy the scenic beauty of Katiki Waterfalls, located near the caves. In the evening, visit the Tribal Museum to learn about the various tribes that reside in the Araku Valley region.

  2. Day 2: Araku Valley Coffee Museum
    30 minutes (13.2 km) from Ananthagiri Hills

    Spend the morning at Ananthagiri Hills, a beautiful hill station with lush greenery. Take a stroll around the valley and enjoy the cool breeze. In the afternoon, visit the Araku Valley Coffee Museum to learn about the history of coffee plantations in the region. Taste some freshly brewed coffee at the museum. In the evening, head to the Padmapuram Botanical Gardens to explore the various species of plants and trees.

  3. Day 3: Tyda Nature Camp
    40 minutes (20 km) from Araku Valley

Recommendations

If you have extra time, you can visit the Dumbriguda Waterfalls, located about 25 km from Araku Valley. You can also take a train ride on the scenic Kothavalasa-Kirandul railway line. To maximize your fun, make sure to carry comfortable clothing and shoes, sunscreen, and insect repellent. You can also try the local cuisine at the various restaurants in the Araku Valley region.
