4-Day City Experience Itinerary in Goa for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Fontainhas Heritage Walk
    10 minutes (2.1 km) from Goa International Airport

    Start your trip with a walk through the colorful streets of Fontainhas, the Latin Quarter of Panaji. The buildings here are painted in vibrant hues of blue, green, and yellow, and the houses have red-tiled roofs. You can take a guided tour to learn about the history and culture of this charming neighborhood. Visit the Chapel of St. Sebastian which is a 19th-century structure built in the Rococo style and the iconic Mahalaxmi Temple. Wander around the area and visit the art galleries and shops that sell souvenirs and handicrafts.

  2. Day 2: Fort Aguada and Candolim Beach

    Start your day by visiting Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort located on Sinquerim Beach. The fort offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea and the Mandovi River. Next, head over to Candolim Beach which is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa. Relax on the beach, swim in the sea, or indulge in some water sports like parasailing and jet skiing.   3. Day 3: Old Goa and Basilica of Bom Jesus
    30 minutes (16.6 km) from Fort Aguada and Candolim Beach

    Explore the historic town of Old Goa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can see the remains of the Portuguese colonial era. Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a 16th-century church that houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. You can also visit the Se Cathedral which is one of the largest churches in Asia. Afterward, stroll around the area and enjoy the charming cafes and restaurants that serve authentic Goan cuisine.

  4. Day 4: Dudhsagar Waterfalls and Spice Plantation Tour
    2 hours 10 minutes (70.8 km) from Old Goa and Basilica of Bom Jesus

    Take a day trip to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India. The falls are situated on the Mandovi River and are surrounded by lush greenery. You can take a dip in the natural pool or enjoy a picnic by the water. Afterward, head over to the spice plantations and go on a tour to learn about the different spices and herbs that grow in Goa. You can also enjoy a traditional Goan meal before returning to your hotel.

If you have extra time, you can visit the beaches of Anjuna and Baga in North Goa, or Palolem and Agonda in South Goa. You can also visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary or go on a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River.
