Shoestring Budget Goa Nature and Beaches Itinerary (5 Days)

  1. Day 1: Palolem Beach
    60 minutes (35km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, head to Palolem Beach, one of the quieter beaches in Goa. Take a dip in the clear waters and relax on the soft sand. For the afternoon, take a stroll to Colomb Beach, just 15 minutes away, where you can find a few shacks for a late lunch. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat ride along the coastline.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
    90 minutes (60km) from Palolem Beach

    This morning, head to Dudhsagar Falls for an early morning hike. The 4-tiered waterfall is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park. Afternoon, indulge in some local Goan cuisine at the nearby Mollem Resort. In the evening, return to Palolem Beach for a relaxing night.

  3. Day 3: Bamanbudo Waterfall and Butterfly Conservatory
    30 minutes (14km) from Palolem Beach

    In the morning, visit the Bamanbudo Waterfall. This hidden gem is located in the Sanguem region and is a great spot for a refreshing swim. For the afternoon, visit the Butterfly Conservatory, which is just a 10-minute drive away. Here, you can see a variety of butterfly species in their natural habitat. In the evening, return to Palolem Beach.

  4. Day 4: Morjim Beach and Chapora Fort
    90 minutes (50km) from Palolem Beach

    In the morning, head to Morjim Beach, known for its olive ridley sea turtles. You might be able to spot some if you're lucky. Afternoon, grab lunch at one of the nearby shacks and then head to Chapora Fort, which is about a 20-minute drive away. The fort offers panoramic views of the coastline and the Chapora river. In the evening, return to Palolem Beach.

  5. Day 5: Cabo de Rama Fort and Agonda Beach
    60 minutes (25km) from Palolem Beach

    In the morning, visit the Cabo de Rama Fort, which is located on a hill overlooking the Arabian Sea. Afternoon, head to Agonda Beach, which is a quieter option compared to some of the other beaches in Goa. Relax on the beach or take a stroll to nearby Cola Beach. In the evening, return to Palolem Beach for a final night.

Other places to consider visiting are the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Tambdi Surla Temple, and the Divar Island. For side trips, you can take a ferry to the nearby Anjuna Flea Market or visit the spice plantations in Ponda. To maximize your fun, try out some water sports at Calangute or Baga Beach, or go on a dolphin spotting tour at Sinquerim. Don't forget to try some Goan fish curry and feni, a local alcoholic drink made from cashews or coconut.
