3-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Delhi in March 2024

  1. Day 1: Explore the Historical Monuments
    35 minutes (12.8 km) from Indira Gandhi International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Red Fort. This grand structure is an excellent example of Mughal architecture with beautiful gardens and fountains. Afternoon, visit Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Mughal-era architecture. In the evening, explore Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  2. Day 2: Visit the Cultural Landmarks
    20 minutes (10.1 km) from Jama Masjid

    Start your day by visiting Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. In the afternoon, visit the Lotus Temple, also known as the Bahai House of Worship, known for its unique flower-like shape. In the evening, head to India Gate, a war memorial located in the heart of the city.

  3. Day 3: Experience the Local Life
    30 minutes (15.2 km) from National Gallery of Modern Art

    Start your day with a visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art, which houses contemporary Indian art. In the afternoon, take a stroll at Connaught Place, one Delhi's most popular shopping and commercial areas. In the evening, head to the Hauz Khas Village, an urban village with lively bars, restaurants, and art galleries.

Recommendations

If you have more time, we suggest visiting Akshardham Temple, a Hindu temple known for its stunning architecture and water shows. You can also take a day trip to Agra, to visit the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. To maximize your fun, try some local street food, such as chaat, samosas, and kebabs. We recommend staying in central Delhi to make navigation easier.
