Transportation

Useful Tips

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Marble Beach, which has unique, white marbles in the sea. However, note that it's only accessible by boat. Also, avoid visiting Thasos during peak season in July and August, as the island can get crowded and the temperatures can be very high. Airports

Kavala International Airport (KVA) is the closest airport to Thasos and is located 17 km from the city center of Kavala. There are taxis and buses available from the airport to the port of Kavala, where you can take a ferry or a speedboat to Thasos. The ferry ride takes around an hour, and the speedboat ride takes around 30 minutes. The airport serves domestic and international flights.
