Kedarnath, Rishikesh, and Haridwar: A Memorable 7-Day Itinerary for September 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrive at Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun
    45 minutes (19.3 miles) from Rishikesh

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Rishikesh. You have the rest of the day to relax and explore the vibrant city of Rishikesh.

  2. Day 2: Triveni Ghat, Laxman Jhula, and Parmarth Niketan Ashram
    20 minutes (5.8 miles) from Day 1

    Start your day with a sunrise visit to Triveni Ghat, where three holy rivers - Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati - confluence. After breakfast, cross the iconic Laxman Jhula, a suspension bridge over the river Ganga, and visit the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, known for its beautiful architecture and spiritual ambiance. Spend the evening attending the Ganga Aarti ceremony, a Hindu ritual of worshiping the river Ganga.

  3. Day 3: Neer Garh Waterfall Trek and Rajaji National Park Safari
    1 hour 30 minutes (31.6 miles) from Day 2

    Embark on an early morning trek to the Neer Garh Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region. After lunch, drive to the Rajaji National Park and enjoy a jeep safari to spot the diverse flora and fauna of the region, including elephants, tigers, and leopards.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath Temple
    8 hours (143 miles) from Day 3

    Depart early morning for Kedarnath, one of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites in India. After an arduous trek of 14 km, visit the holy Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Spend the night in the nearby lodges or camps.

  5. Day 5: Kedarnath to Guptkashi and Rudraprayag
    1 hour 30 minutes (30.6 miles) from Kedarnath Temple

    After breakfast, begin the return trek to Kedarnath Helipad, from where you will be transferred to Guptkashi and Rudraprayag. Visit the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the evening.

  6. Day 6: Har ki Pauri, Mansa Devi Temple, and Chandi Devi Temple
    2 hours (75 miles) from Day 5

    Drive to Haridwar, the gateway to God, and visit the Har ki Pauri Ghat, where the river Ganga leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Take the ropeway to visit Mansa Devi Temple and Chandi Devi Temple, two of the most popular temples in Haridwar. Attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Har ki Pauri.

  7. Day 7: Departure from Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun
    1 hour (21.4 miles) from Haridwar

    After breakfast, bid farewell to the beautiful cities of Kedarnath, Rishikesh, and Haridwar, and depart for Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, for your onward journey.

If you have extra time, you can also visit the Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh, which was once a spiritual retreat of the legendary band.
