Exploring Yosemite National Park from San Bernardino in 2 Days
Day 1: Yosemite Valley
Approximately 5 hours (280 miles) from San Bernardino
Start your day early and head towards Yosemite Valley. Spend the morning exploring the valley floor where you’ll find iconic landmarks like El Capitan, Half Dome, and Yosemite Falls. Stop by the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center to learn more about the park’s history and geology. For lunch, have a picnic at Yosemite Village and take a stroll through the Ansel Adams Gallery to view some stunning landscape photography. In the afternoon, hike the Mist Trail to Vernal and Nevada Falls for spectacular views of the park. In the evening, grab dinner at The Mountain Room Restaurant before settling in for the night at Yosemite Valley Lodge.
Day 2: Glacier Point
Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (36 miles) from Yosemite Valley Lodge
Start your morning early and head towards Glacier Point. The drive up will take you through some breathtaking views of the park. Once you arrive at Glacier Point, enjoy panoramic views of the park from over 7,000 feet above sea level. Take a guided tour of the area to learn more about the park’s history and geology or hike the 4-mile trail to Sentinel Dome for a 360-degree view of the park. For lunch, have a picnic or grab a bite at the Glacier Point Restaurant. In the afternoon, head towards Mariposa Grove to see some of the world’s largest and oldest Giant Sequoias. End your day with dinner at The Majestic Yosemite Hotel before heading back to San Bernardino.

Aside from Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point, be sure to check out Tioga Road, which is only open from late May to October. It’s a beautiful scenic drive through the park’s high country with stunning views of meadows, lakes, and granite peaks. Other must-see attractions include Mirror Lake, Bridalveil Fall, and the Yosemite Museum. For side trips, consider visiting Mono Lake or Bodie State Historic Park.
