Kanamo Peak is a popular trekking destination that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. The trek is challenging and requires a good level of fitness. But once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Spiti Valley.
After a week full of trekking and exploring, it’s time to take a break and indulge in some local cuisine. Spiti Valley is known for its delicious and unique dishes like Momos, Thenthuk, and Tingmo. You can visit a local restaurant or try your hands at the traditional cooking techniques with a local family.
Travelers need to consider hiring a private taxi or jeep for a comfortable journey in the mountainous region of Spiti Valley. A taxi can cost ₹3500-₹4000 per day depending on the season, and it takes about 10 hours to cover a distance of 240 km from the nearest airport in Bhuntar.
If you have more time, you can visit Tabo Monastery, Dhankar Monastery, and other nearby villages. For a shorter trip, you can skip the Kanamo Peak trek or visit only Kibber, Key Monastery and Pin Valley National Park.
