5-Day City Experiences Itinerary in Tbilisi, Georgia (June 2023)

  1. Day 1: Old Town and Narikala Fortress
    25 minutes (6.2 km) from Tbilisi International Airport

    In the morning, explore the winding streets of Tbilisi's Old Town, filled with traditional architecture and quaint cafes. Afternoon: Visit the Narikala Fortress for panoramic views of the city. In the evening, check out the sulfur baths and experience a traditional Georgian bathhouse.

  2. Day 2: Tbilisi National Botanical Garden and Rustaveli Avenue

    Spend the morning at Tbilisi National Botanical Garden, home to a vast array of flora and fauna. In the afternoon, stroll down Rustaveli Avenue and visit the Georgian National Museum. In the evening, catch a ballet or opera performance at the historic Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre.

  3. Day 3: Mtatsminda Park and Funicular

Return to Tbilisi in the evening for dinner at one of the city's fine dining restaurants.

  5. Day 5: Bridge of Peace and Freedom Square
    20 minutes (4.9 km) from Svetitskhoveli Cathedral

    Take a leisurely stroll across the Bridge of Peace in the morning and enjoy views of the Mtkvari River. In the afternoon, visit Freedom Square and the nearby Georgian National Opera Theater. In the evening, head to the trendy Vake district and explore the many bars and nightclubs.

Recommendations

If you have extra time in Tbilisi, visit the Open Air Sulphur Baths or take a wine tour to the Kakheti region. For a unique experience, take a cooking class to learn how to make traditional Georgian dishes. You can also visit the David Gareja Monastery or the Uplistsikhe Cave City for a side trip.
