6-Day Adventure Itinerary for Himachal in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Shimla
    2 hours 30 minutes (73 km) from Chandigarh International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Ridge and the Jakhoo Temple. Take a cable car ride to the top of the hill for a panoramic view of the city. In the afternoon, explore the Christ Church and the Mall Road. For the evening, watch the sunset from Scandal Point.

  2. Day 2: Manali
    7 hours (248 km) from Shimla

    Start your day with a visit to the Hadimba Devi Temple. Afterwards, go to the Manali Nature Park and then try out river rafting on the Beas River. In the evening, take a walk along the Manali Mall Road and explore the local shops and restaurants.

  3. Day 3: Rohtang Pass
    1 hour 30 minutes (51 km) from Manali

    Take an early morning drive to the Rohtang Pass, one of the highest mountain passes in the world. Enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains. In the afternoon, return to Manali and visit the Tibetan Monastery. Spend the evening relaxing at the Vashisht Hot Springs.

  4. Day 4: Dharamshala

    In the morning, visit the Kangra Fort and the Masroor Rock Cut Temple. Afterwards, head to Dharamshala and explore the Norbulingka Institute and the Namgyal Monastery. Spend the evening at the Dal Lake.

  5. Day 5: McLeod Ganj

  6. Day 6: Chandigarh
