5-Day Adventure Itinerary in Kuala Lumpur, June 2023

  1. Day 1: Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve
    10 minutes (2.7 km) from KL Sentral Station

    In the morning, explore the lush greenery of Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, the oldest gazetted forest reserve in Malaysia. Walk along the canopy walkway, which is 200 meters long and 22 meters high, to get a bird's eye view of the forest. In the afternoon, visit KL Tower, which offers a panoramic view of the city. As evening falls, head to Jalan Alor for a food tour and sample some of the best street food Kuala Lumpur has to offer.

  2. Day 2: Batu Caves
    30 minutes (13.6 km) from Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve

    In the morning, visit the iconic Batu Caves, a limestone hill that has a series of caves and temples. Climb the 272 steps to the main cave and marvel at the 140-feet high statue of Lord Murugan. In the afternoon, head to the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory to learn about the history and craftsmanship of pewter.   3. Day 3: Taman Negara National Park
    3 hours 30 minutes (240 km) from Batu Caves

    Take a day trip to Taman Negara National Park, one of the oldest rainforests in the world. Take a guided jungle trek, go on a river cruise or visit an Orang Asli village to learn about the tribe's culture. In the evening, head back to Kuala Lumpur and relax at a rooftop bar like Heli Lounge Bar, which offers a stunning view of the city skyline.

  4. Day 4: Sunway Lagoon
    30 minutes (19 km) from KLCC

    Get your adrenaline pumping at Sunway Lagoon, a theme park with water slides, amusement rides, and a surf beach. Beat the heat at the water park and take a thrilling ride on the Vuvuzela, the world's largest water ride. In the evening, head to the Golden Triangle for a night out and enjoy a drink at one of the many bars and clubs.

  5. Day 5: Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary
    2 hours 30 minutes (140 km) from Sunway Lagoon

    Visit the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary and learn about the conservation efforts of the Malaysian government to protect the endangered Asian elephants. Bathe and feed the elephants and take a ride on their backs. In the evening, return to Kuala Lumpur and enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant like Bijan Bar & Restaurant where you can indulge in authentic Malay dishes.
