7-Day Chardham Nature Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Yamunotri
    2 hrs 55 mins (76.6 km) from Dehradun

    Start your day early and embark on a scenic drive to Yamunotri. Take a dip in the natural hot springs, trek to the Yamunotri Temple, and enjoy the beautiful vistas. In the afternoon visit the Surya Kund Waterfall, and explore nearby villages. End the day with an evening aarti at the temple.

  2. Day 2: Gangotri
    6 hrs 36 mins (200 km) from Yamunotri

    Drive to Gangotri, the origin of the River Ganges. Visit the Gangotri Temple, and take a dip in the holy waters. Trek to Gaumukh Glacier for stunning views of the Himalayas. In the evening, explore the local market and enjoy the local cuisine.

  3. Day 3: Guptkashi
    6 hrs 25 mins (216 km) from Gangotri

    Head to Guptkashi, one of the holiest towns of Uttarakhand. Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple, and take a dip in the holy Gaurikund. Trek to Kedarnath and enjoy the beautiful views of the Himalayas. In the evening, take part in the evening aarti ceremony at Kedarnath Temple.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath

  5. Day 5: Badrinath

    Drive to Badrinath, the abode of Lord Vishnu. Visit the Badrinath Temple, and take a dip in the Tapt Kund. Explore Mana Village, the last village on the India-China border. In the evening, attend the evening aarti ceremony at the temple.

  6. Day 6: Valley of Flowers

    Explore the stunning Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trek through the beautiful meadows, and see the vibrant alpine flowers in full bloom. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the valley, and return to Badrinath in the evening.

  7. Day 7: Rishikesh
    8 hrs 10 mins (290 km) from Valley of Flowers

    Drive to Rishikesh, the "Yoga Capital of the World." Visit the Triveni Ghat, and attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony. Explore the local markets, and enjoy a relaxing Ayurvedic spa treatment. In the evening, attend a yoga and meditation session with a local guru.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh place of worship situated near the Valley of Flowers. You can also take a white-water rafting expedition in Rishikesh or visit the Rajaji National Park. To maximize your fun, hire a local guide for trekking and sightseeing. Don't forget to try the local Garhwali cuisine, which includes dishes like Kachmauli, Aloo ke Gutke, and Jhangora ki Kheer.
