Ladakh: A 7-Day Adventure Itinerary in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Leh Palace

  3. Day 3: Nubra Valley

    Take a scenic drive to Nubra Valley, known for its sand dunes and double-humped Bactrian camels. Visit the Diskit Monastery, home to a 32-meter Maitreya Buddha statue, and stay overnight in a traditional Ladakhi homestay.

  4. Day 4: Hunder
    1 hour (25 km) from Nubra Valley

    Visit Hunder, a small village in the Nubra Valley known for its sand dunes and Bactrian camels. Take a camel safari and explore the nearby hot springs. Return to Leh in the evening.

  5. Day 5: Hemis National Park
    2 hours (55 km) from Leh

    Embark on a wildlife safari at Hemis National Park, home to the endangered snow leopard and other rare species. Enjoy the scenic landscape and learn about the local flora and fauna from a guide. Return to Leh in the evening.

  6. Day 6: Alchi Monastery
    2 hours (70 km) from Leh

    Visit Alchi Monastery, a 12th-century Buddhist monastery known for its well-preserved frescoes and wood carvings. Explore the complex and learn about its history from a guide. On the way back, stop at the Basgo Palace and Likir Monastery.

  7. Day 7: Khardung La Pass
    1 hour (40 km) from Leh

    End your adventure with a trip to Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and enjoy a cup of tea at the highest cafeteria in the world.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider taking a trek to Markha Valley or Pangong Tso Lake. Don't miss the local cuisine, especially momos and thukpa. To maximize your fun, try some adventure sports like river rafting or mountain biking. As for side trips, you can visit Zanskar Valley or Tso Moriri Lake.
