Start your day at the Sabarmati Ashram, the former home of Mahatma Gandhi. Learn about his life and teachings and visit the museum. For lunch, try the local street food at Manek Chowk. In the afternoon, visit the Calico Museum of Textiles, which has a vast collection of Indian fabrics. End your day at the Kankaria Lake, where you can take a leisurely boat ride and enjoy the lights and music fountain show in the evening.
Start early and embark on a road trip to Palitana, known for its stunning Jain temples located on Shatrunjaya Hill. There are approximately 900 temples, and it takes around 3-4 hours to climb up the hill. Take a break for lunch at the hilltop and enjoy the panoramic view. After lunch, head back down to the foothills and visit the Jain Museum. Spend the night in Palitana.
Start early and drive to Somnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Visit the Somnath Temple and the nearby Bhalka Tirth, where Lord Krishna was mistaken for a deer and shot by an arrow. Have lunch and then continue to Gir National Park, the only place in the world where you can spot Asiatic lions. Go on a jungle safari in the afternoon and try to spot lions, leopards, deer, and other animals. Spend the night in Gir.
Drive to Dwarka early in the morning and visit the Dwarkadhish Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna. Take a dip in the Gomti river and visit the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and the nearby Rukmini Devi Temple. Have lunch and then visit the Bet Dwarka island, where Lord Krishna lived with his family. Take a boat ride and visit the various temples on the island. Return to Dwarka for dinner and spend the night.
Other attractions you may consider include the Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar, the Rani ki Vav stepwell in Patan, and the Modhera Sun Temple. Additionally, if you have extra time, you may want to consider taking a side trip to the Great Rann of Kutch, a salt desert that is known for its white sands and stunning sunsets. To maximize your fun, be sure to try the local cuisine, including the famous Gujarati thali. Finally, be prepared for hot temperatures in June and bring sunscreen, hats, and plenty of water.
