5-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary for Leh Ladakh in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Stok Palace Museum

  3. Day 3: Hemis Monastery

    Visit the Hemis Monastery in the morning, which is the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. The monastery is famous for its annual Hemis Festival, which features masked dances, music, and other cultural events. In the afternoon, head to the Thiksey Monastery, which is known for its impressive Maitreya Buddha statue and beautiful architecture. End your day by visiting the Shey Palace, a former royal residence of Ladakh's rulers.

  4. Day 4: Diskit Monastery
    5 hours (120 miles) from Leh

    Take a scenic drive to Nubra Valley in the morning and visit the Diskit Monastery, which is the oldest and largest monastery in the valley.   5. Day 5: Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace

In the afternoon, visit the Leh Palace, a nine-storey palace that was once the residence of the royal family. Aside from the itinerary, you may also want to visit the Lamayuru Monastery, which is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Ladakh. If you have more time, you can also take a side trip to Pangong Tso Lake, a beautiful high-altitude lake that is famous for its changing colors.
