2-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Panchmarhi in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Jata Shankar Caves
10 minutes (2.7 km) from Panchmarhi Bus Stand

Start your day exploring the magnificent Jata Shankar Caves. The natural cave formation is said to resemble Lord Shiva's hair. The cave has a small stream flowing through it, and there are several stalactites and stalagmites formations to marvel at. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the cave exploration. Afterward, you can visit the nearby Handi Khoh viewpoint, which offers breathtaking views of the valley.

In the afternoon, we suggest visiting the Bee Fall waterfalls. The waterfall is about 35 meters high and is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a perfect spot for a picnic. You can take a dip in the cool water or simply enjoy the view.

In the evening, you can visit the famous Pandav Caves. The five caves are believed to have been built by the Pandavas during their exile. The caves are located on a hill and offer a stunning view of the sunset. We suggest carrying a flashlight to explore the dark corners of the caves.

  2. Day 2: Satpura National Park
30 minutes (10 km) from Panchmarhi Bus Stand

Spend the morning exploring the Satpura National Park. The park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including tigers, leopards, and deer. You can take a jeep safari or a guided walking tour to explore the park. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and carrying a camera to capture the beautiful wildlife.

In the afternoon, you can visit the Rajat Pratap Waterfall. The waterfall is one of the highest in Madhya Pradesh, with a height of about 350 feet. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forest and is a sight to behold. We suggest carrying a light raincoat as the area can get misty.

In the evening, you can visit the beautiful Dhupgarh Sunset Point. The point is the highest peak in Panchmarhi and offers a stunning view of the sunset. We suggest carrying a light jacket as the area can get chilly after sunset.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, we suggest visiting the Handi Khoh viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the valley. For a unique experience, you can visit the Bison Lodge Museum, which houses artifacts related to the history of Panchmarhi. To maximize your fun, we recommend carrying a camera and a pair of binoculars to spot wildlife during your safari.
