Delhi to Dharamshala: Four Days on a Shoestring Budget

  1. Day 1: Explore the Capital

    Start your journey early in the morning from Delhi. Visit the Lotus Temple, a Bahá'í House of Worship, known for its unique lotus-shaped architecture. In the evening, explore the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk, one of Delhi's oldest and busiest markets, and try some delicious street food.

  2. Day 2: Discover McLeod Ganj

    Start your day early and head to McLeod Ganj, a suburb of Dharamshala, known for its Tibetan culture and stunning views of the Himalayas. Then, head to the Bhagsunag Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by mountains and lush greenery. In the evening, visit the local markets, filled with Tibetan handicrafts, jewelry, and clothing.

  3. Day 3: Trek to Triund

In the evening, take a taxi back to Dharamshala and enjoy a peaceful walk through the tea gardens.

If you have an extra day, visit the Dal Lake, a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and pine forests. You can also take a day trip to Palampur, a small town known for its tea gardens and colonial architecture. To maximize your fun, try paragliding at Bir-Billing, one of the best paragliding sites in India. Make sure to sample some of the local delicacies, such as momos, thukpa, and tandoori trout.
