3-Day Itinerary for Kerala in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Kochi
    35 minutes (22.5 km) from Cochin International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. The palace showcases traditional Kerala architecture and has a museum that displays artefacts dating back to the 16th century. In the afternoon, head to the Paradesi Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. The synagogue is known for its stunning Belgian glass chandeliers and hand-painted tiles. In the evening, take a stroll through the Fort Kochi beach and watch the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Munnar
    4 hours and 35 minutes (129 km) from Kochi

    Start your day with a visit to the Tea Museum, which showcases the history and evolution of tea plantations in Munnar. In the afternoon, go on a hike to the Top Station viewpoint and marvel at the panoramic views of the Western Ghats. End your day with a visit to the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, the highest tea plantation in the country, and savour some freshly brewed tea.

  3. Day 3: Alleppey
    3 hours and 10 minutes (83 km) from Munnar

    Spend your morning exploring the backwaters of Alleppey on a houseboat. Float past paddy fields, coconut groves and local villages and experience the local way of life. In the afternoon, visit the Alleppey Beach and unwind on the sandy shores. End your day with a visit to the Andhakaranazhi Beach and watch the mesmerising sunset.

If you have an extra day in Kochi, visit the Cherai Beach or the Hill Palace Museum. In Munnar, you can also visit the Eravikulam National Park or the Atukkad Waterfalls.
