2-Day Itinerary for Delhi and Agra in June 2023 - City Experiences

  1. Day 1: Delhi City Tour
    Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Old Delhi - 30 minutes (12.5 miles)

    Morning: Start the day with a visit to the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was the residence of the Mughal Emperors for more than 200 years. Afternoon: Post-lunch, visit the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, followed by a rickshaw ride through the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk. Evening: End the day with a visit to India Gate, a war memorial and an iconic landmark of Delhi, and enjoy the illuminated monument in the evening.

  2. Day 2: Agra City Tour
    Delhi to Agra - 3 hours (130 miles)

    Morning: Begin the day with a visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and witness the magical beauty of the monument during sunrise. Afternoon: Post-lunch, visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was the main residence of the Mughal Emperors until 1638. Evening: End the day with a visit to the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, also known as the Baby Taj, and witness the intricate marble inlay work.

Other local attractions and experiences that you can consider are Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb in Delhi, Fatehpur Sikri and Mehtab Bagh in Agra. You can also take a side trip to Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, which is just an hour's drive from Agra. To maximize your fun, try the street food in Delhi and Agra, and don't forget to shop for souvenirs at Dilli Haat and Sadar Bazaar.
