3-Day Itinerary for Jaisalmer in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Jaisalmer Fort
    15 minutes (1.5 miles) from Jaisalmer Railway Station

    In the morning, head to the Jaisalmer Fort, also known as the Golden Fort. The fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the few living forts in the world. Explore the narrow lanes, temples, and havelis inside the fort. In the afternoon, visit the Jain Temples, which are known for their intricate carvings. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show at one of the havelis inside the fort.

  2. Day 2: Sam Sand Dunes
    1 hour 15 minutes (42.5 miles) from Jaisalmer Fort

    Start your day early and head to the Sam Sand Dunes, which is a natural wonder of the Thar Desert. Enjoy a camel ride, go dune bashing, and watch the sunset over the sand dunes. In the afternoon, visit the Kuldhara Village, which is an abandoned village with a spooky history. In the evening, explore the local markets in Jaisalmer and shop for souvenirs.

  3. Day 3: Bada Bagh
    20 minutes (6.5 miles) from Sam Sand Dunes

    Visit the Bada Bagh in the morning, which is a garden complex with royal cenotaphs. The garden has a serene atmosphere and is a great place for photography. In the afternoon, visit the Gadisar Lake, which is a man-made lake surrounded by temples and chattris. In the evening, enjoy a sunset view of the lake from a boat.

Don't miss out on the Patwon Ki Haveli, which is a beautiful haveli with intricate carvings. You could also take a side trip to the Tanot Mata Temple, which is a temple located near the India-Pakistan border and is known for its miraculous history. To maximize your fun, try some local street food, such as the mirchi bada and dal bati churma. Make sure to carry a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.
