2-Day Honeymoon Itinerary in Gangtok in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Tashi View Point
    12 minutes (4.3 km) from Gangtok city center

    Begin your day with a breathtaking sunrise from Tashi View Point. The view of Kanchenjunga range from here is mesmerizing. Spend a romantic morning with your partner, enjoying the panoramic view and sipping tea. Afterward, head to Ganesh Tok, a small temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is a peaceful place surrounded by lush greenery. Later in the afternoon, explore the Flower Exhibition Center, a garden full of colorful flowers and plants. You can also buy some souvenirs from the nearby shops. In the evening, visit the Banjhakri Falls, which is a beautiful waterfall surrounded by dense forests. The sound of the waterfall is calming and the view is stunning.

  2. Day 2: Rumtek Monastery
    45 minutes (20 km) from Gangtok city center

    Begin your day with a visit to the Rumtek Monastery, which is one of the most significant monasteries in Sikkim. The architecture of the monastery is impressive and the view of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking. Spend some time here, meditating and enjoying the peace. Afterward, head to the Enchey Monastery, which is another popular monastery in Gangtok. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava had stayed here and blessed the place. In the afternoon, take a cable car ride to the top of the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. The ride offers a stunning view of the city and the institute houses a vast collection of Tibetan art and artifacts. In the evening, visit the MG Marg, a popular shopping street in Gangtok. You can buy some souvenirs and enjoy the local food here.

If you have extra time, you can also visit the Tsomgo Lake, which is a stunning glacial lake surrounded by mountains. However, it is subject to weather conditions and may be closed during November due to heavy snowfall. Another option is to visit the Nathu La Pass, which is a border crossing between India and China. However, permits are required and it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. To maximize your fun, you can also try out adventure activities like paragliding or river rafting. Lastly, do not forget to try out the local delicacies like momos and thukpa.
