In the morning, visit the Har Ki Pauri ghat, one of the most sacred places in Haridwar, where the Ganges River flows into the plains. Witness the morning aarti (prayer ceremony) by the river. In the afternoon, visit the Mansa Devi Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi. To reach the temple, you can take a cable car (ropeway) ride. Finally, in the evening, visit the Chandi Devi Temple, located atop the Neel Parvat hill. You can reach the temple by a ropeway or trek 3 km uphill.
In the morning, visit the Beatles Ashram, an abandoned ashram where the Beatles stayed in 1968 and composed several songs. You can see their paintings on the walls. In the afternoon, visit the Triveni Ghat, a sacred bathing spot where three rivers (Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati) converge. You can witness the evening aarti ceremony here. Finally, stroll through the Laxman Jhula, a suspension bridge over the Ganges River that connects two villages, Tapovan and Jonk.
In the morning, experience the thrill of white water rafting in the Ganges River. You can choose from different stretches of the river, depending on your skill level and time availability. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive to the Neer Garh Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall in the midst of the Shivalik Range. Finally, in the evening, enjoy the Ganga Aarti ceremony in Parmarth Niketan, a spiritual ashram in Rishikesh. It is a soul-stirring experience to see hundreds of diyas (lamps) floating in the river.
If you have time, you can also visit the Rajaji National Park, a tiger reserve and wildlife sanctuary located 1 hour (35 miles) from Haridwar. You can take a jeep safari to see elephants, tigers, leopards, and many other animals. Another side trip is to visit the Kempty Falls, a picturesque waterfall located 2 hours (46 miles) from Haridwar. You can take a dip in the cool water and enjoy the views. To maximize your fun, try some local street food such as chaat, golgappe, and chole bhature. Also, don't forget to buy some souvenirs such as Rudraksha beads, Ganga Jal (holy water), and spiritual books. Finally, I suggest you carry a water bottle, sunscreen lotion, and comfortable shoes as you will be walking and trekking in some places.
