4-Day Nature Itinerary to Rudranath in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Trek to Rudranath
    Starting point: Sagar Village
    Distance: 18 km (5-6 hours approx.)

    In the morning, start your trek from Sagar Village to Rudranath, one of the Panch Kedar temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The trek offers some stunning views of the Himalayas and passes through dense forests of rhododendron and oak trees. In the afternoon, enjoy a packed lunch amidst nature. Reach Rudranath by evening and experience the peaceful aura of this ancient temple. Overnight stay in Rudranath.

  2. Day 2: Panar Bugyal Trek
    Distance: 6 km (3 hours approx.)

    After a hearty breakfast, trek to the picturesque Panar Bugyal, a high altitude meadow located at an elevation of 3,556 meters. The trek is filled with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and you can spot some rare Himalayan birds and animals along the way. Reach Panar Bugyal by noon and enjoy a packed lunch amidst nature. In the evening, return to Rudranath for an overnight stay.

  3. Day 3: Trek to Sagar Village
    Distance: 18 km (5-6 hours approx.)

    After breakfast, trek back to Sagar Village via the same route. Take your time to soak in the beautiful views of the mountains and forests that you may have missed during the first trek. Reach Sagar Village by evening for an overnight stay.

  4. Day 4: Nanda Devi Temple Visit
    Distance: 40 km (2 hours approx.)

    In the morning, visit the Nanda Devi Temple in Almora, which is dedicated to Goddess Nanda Devi. The temple is known for its intricate architecture and beautiful surroundings. Spend some time exploring the temple and the nearby areas. In the afternoon, visit the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to some rare Himalayan flora and fauna. Take a guided trek or nature walk to explore the sanctuary. Return to Sagar Village by evening for an overnight stay.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, you can also consider visiting the Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, which are part of the Panch Kedar circuit. You can also take a side trip to the Kausani hill station, which is known for its stunning views of the Himalayas.
