Wagah Border is the only border crossing between India and Pakistan that is open for foreigners. It’s known for its daily flag lowering ceremony which attracts huge crowds. You can also visit the nearby War Memorial to learn about the India-Pakistan wars.
Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden that has been turned into a memorial for the hundreds of Indian men, women, and children who were killed or injured by British troops in 1919.

Amritsar is well-connected by both air and road. You can fly into Amritsar Airport from major Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. There are also numerous trains and buses that connect Amritsar to other cities in North India. Auto-rickshaws are the primary mode of transportation within the city, and they are relatively cheap.
Auto-rickshaw fares within the city typically range from INR 20-100, depending on the distance traveled. However, it’s essential to negotiate the fare beforehand to avoid any misunderstandings.
If you have more time, you can visit the nearby cities of Jalandhar or Ludhiana, known for their cuisine and culture. You can also take a day trip to the iconic city of Chandigarh, known for its modern architecture and urban planning.
If you have less time, you can skip some of the attractions in the itinerary and focus on the ones that interest you the most. However, we strongly suggest visiting the Golden Temple, without which no trip to Amritsar is complete.
