Two-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Kerala in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Fort Kochi
    40 minutes (12.5 km) from Cochin International Airport

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Dutch Palace which is known for its stunning architecture and beautiful murals. Then, head to the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, where the famous explorer Vasco da Gama was originally buried.

    Afternoon: Enjoy a scrumptious seafood lunch at one of the local restaurants. After lunch, visit the Chinese Fishing Nets and learn how they are used for fishing.

    Evening: End your day by watching the beautiful sunset at the Fort Kochi Beach while taking a stroll along the coast.

  2. Day 2: Munnar
    4 hours (130 km) from Fort Kochi

    Morning: After breakfast, head to the Mattupetty Dam, known for its beautiful scenery and boating activities. Then, visit the nearby Echo Point, where you can hear your voice echo through the surrounding hills.

    Afternoon: Enjoy a traditional Kerala meal for lunch. After lunch, visit the Tea Museum to learn about the history and production of tea in the region.

    Evening: End your day by visiting the Blossom Park to enjoy the beautiful flowers and scenic views.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to see the elephants and other wildlife. Another recommended side trip is a visit to the Athirappilly Waterfalls, which is about two hours (70 km) from Kochi.
