3-Day Itinerary from Bangalore Airport to Coorg

Famous for its coffee plantations, misty hills, and waterfalls, Coorg is a nature lover's paradise. This 3-day itinerary from Bangalore Airport to Coorg will give you a taste of what this beautiful place has to offer.

  1. Day 1: Bangalore Airport to Coorg
    Estimated time: 5 hours (237 km)

    After arriving at Bangalore Airport, head towards Coorg. On the way, visit the magnificent Shravanabelagola Jain Temple, famous for its 57-feet tall monolithic statue of Lord Gommateshwara. Stop for lunch in Hassan and savour some authentic Karnataka cuisine. On reaching Coorg, check into your hotel and relax for the rest of the evening.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp, Abbey Falls, and Raja's Seat
    Estimated time: 1 hour 30 minutes (42 km)

    In the morning, visit the Dubare Elephant Camp to watch and learn about the lifestyle of elephants. You can bathe and feed them, and even take a river rafting trip. After that, proceed to Abbey Falls, where you can take a dip in the cool waters and enjoy the scenic beauty. Have lunch at one of the local restaurants and then head to Raja's Seat to witness a breathtaking sunset. Return to your hotel for the night.

  3. Day 3: Talakaveri, Bhagamandala, and Omkareshwara Temple

    Start your day early and drive to Talakaveri, the birthplace of the River Cauvery. Take a dip in the holy water and offer prayers at the temple. Next, visit Bhagamandala, where the River Cauvery meets the River Kannika. Explore the temple and learn about the history of the place. Have lunch at one of the local restaurants and then proceed to Omkareshwara Temple, built in 1820. The temple's unique architecture is a blend of Gothic and Islamic styles. After that, head back to Bangalore Airport for your return journey.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time in Coorg, you can visit the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple. It is the largest teaching centre of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism outside Tibet. You can also go on a trek to the Tadiandamol Peak, the highest peak in Coorg.
