Start your day at Asahiyama Memorial Park, a beautiful park where you can immerse yourself in the natural environment that Hokkaido is known for. Be sure to visit the rose garden and take a stroll through the forests.
Next, head to Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill where you can see an incredible view of Sapporo City and Odori Park. Take a relaxing walk around the hilltop, and then visit the sheep ranch where over 100 sheep are kept.
For a bit of culture, visit Hokkaido Jingu Shrine, a Shinto Shrine with a peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by trees, it is a great place to escape the city for a while and take in some greenery.
Finish off your day with a stunning view of Sapporo city from the top of Mount Moiwa. Take the ropeway to the summit and admire the panoramic view from the observation deck. As you make your way back down to the base, watch the city lights come to life.
In between different locations, the most convenient mode of transportation is taxi, although you may take buses or trains if you prefer. Total travel time and cost may vary depending on traffic and transport schedules.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Sapporo Botanic Garden or the Maruyama Zoo. If time is tight, remove Asahiyama Memorial Park from the itinerary. Don't forget to bring comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
There are two airports near Sapporo: New Chitose Airport (CTS) and Okadama Airport (OKD). New Chitose is the main international airport and is located about 47 km southeast of Sapporo city center, while Okadama is a domestic airport located about 8 km north of the city center.
