Alternatively, you can use public buses or trains, which are frequent and reliable, but might be slower and less convenient. Parking might be difficult in the city centres or tourist hotspots, and tolls might apply on some highways. Make sure to have a valid driving license and an international insurance coverage. The estimated total cost of transportation for this itinerary is €120.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can extend your stay in Ljubljana and visit other nearby attractions, such as Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle, or Škocjan Caves. You can also add a day trip to the wine regions of Goriška Brda or Vipava Valley, or to the alpine resorts of Kranjska Gora or Vogel. If you have less time, you can skip one of the destinations or shorten your stay in Ljubljana. Make sure to check the weather forecast before planning activities and to book in advance accommodation and popular tours.
