4-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Goa in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Chapora Fort
    20 minutes (7.3 km) from Thivim Station

    In the morning, visit the Chapora Fort, which offers a beautiful view of the sea and surroundings. Then, head to the Anjuna Flea Market to experience the local shopping scene with street food and live music. In the afternoon, relax on the Anjuna Beach and enjoy the sunset. In the evening, head to the Curlies Beach Shack for dinner and drinks.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Waterfalls
    1 hour 30 minutes (62 km) from Anjuna Beach

    Start your day early and head to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls. Trek through the lush green forests to reach the waterfall, which cascades from a height of 1017 feet. After the trek, take a dip in the natural pools below the waterfall. In the evening, visit the Mahadev Temple in Tambdi Surla, which is the oldest temple in Goa.

  3. Day 3: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    30 minutes (10.8 km) from Panaji Bus Stand

    In the morning, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site that contains the remains of St. Francis Xavier. Then head to the St. Augustine Tower, which offers a panoramic view of the city. In the afternoon, visit the Dona Paula Beach, which is a popular picnic spot. End the day with a river cruise on the Mandovi River.

  4. Day 4: Fontainhas
    20 minutes (7.6 km) from Dona Paula Beach

    Start your day by exploring the Latin Quarter, Fontainhas, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the narrow streets and admire the colorful Portuguese-style houses. In the afternoon, visit the Shri Mangueshi Temple, one of the largest and most visited temples in Goa. End the day with a visit to the Miramar Beach, where you can watch the sunset.

If you're interested in historical places, visit the Aguada Fort, which is located near the Candolim Beach. You can also take a side trip to the Grand Island, where you can try snorkeling and scuba diving. To maximize your fun, try the local cuisine at the street food stalls. Don't forget to try the famous Goan fish curry and feni, a local alcoholic drink. Lastly, take a night walk on the Baga Beach, which is popular for its nightlife.
