Start your day by strolling along the Venetian Harbour, which was constructed by the Venetians during their colonization of the island. In the morning, you can take a boat tour around the harbour and learn about the history of the area. For lunch, head to the waterfront restaurants and try some fresh seafood. In the afternoon, explore the narrow streets of the old town and visit the Mosque of the Janissaries, which is now a music conservatory. End your day with a sunset view from the lighthouse.
Embark on a morning hike through the stunning Samaria Gorge, which is the longest gorge in Europe. The hike takes about 5-7 hours, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks. After the hike, relax at a nearby beach and enjoy a picnic lunch. In the evening, head back to Chania and dine at one of the many traditional tavernas in the town.
If you have extra time, consider visiting the Archaeological Museum of Chania or the War Museum of Chania. If you want to take a side trip, visit the nearby Balos Lagoon or Elafonisi Beach. To maximize your fun, try some water activities like paddleboarding or kayaking. Lastly, don't forget to try the local drink, raki!
