4-Day Itinerary for Leh Ladak in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Shanti Stupa
    7 minutes (2.1 km) from Leh Palace

    In the morning, head to Shanti Stupa, a beautiful white-domed Buddhist stupa that offers spectacular views of Leh and the surrounding mountains. The climb up to the stupa's terrace can be a bit steep, but the panoramic views are worth it. In the afternoon, visit Leh Palace, a former royal palace that's now a museum.     Set out early in the morning to Pangong Tso Lake, a serene, high-altitude lake that spans the India-China border. The drive to the lake takes you through breathtaking mountain landscapes and past several charming villages. Spend the day by the lake, taking in its crystal-clear waters and stunning surroundings. In the evening, head back to Leh and relax.

  3. Day 3: Nubra Valley
    4 hours (120 km) from Leh

    Drive to Nubra Valley in the morning, a vast, high-altitude valley known for its starkly beautiful landscape and unique culture. Visit the Diskit Monastery, one of the region's oldest and most important Buddhist monasteries. You can also ride a double-humped camel in the desert, which is a unique experience.   4. Day 4: Hemis National Park
    1 hour 20 minutes (40 km) from Leh

In the afternoon, head to the Thiksey Monastery, a stunning 12-story complex that contains several important Buddhist relics and artefacts. In the evening, head back to Leh and relax.

If you have more time, consider visiting Tso Moriri Lake, which is another high-altitude lake that's less touristy than Pangong Tso. You can also go on a river rafting trip on the Zanskar River, which is a thrilling experience.
