Start your first day by relaxing at Villa Olmo, a neoclassical villa offering stunning views of Lake Como. Stroll through the garden and along the waterfront before taking a scenic boat tour on Lake Como. Take in the picturesque mountain surroundings and beautiful Italian architecture along the lakefront.
On your second day, visit Brunate, a charming village that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the beautiful landscape. Take the Como-Brunate Funicular Railway to Brunate, enjoying the views of the hills and villas as you ride up. Whether you hike, bike or simply relax on the scenic terrace with a coffee, Brunate is a must-visit.
On day three, visit the notable Como Cathedral, an impressive example of Gothic architecture. Witness the beautiful stained glass windows and impressive artwork inside. Afterward, visit the iconic Tempio Voltiano Museum, an enlightening museum dedicated to the life and work of Alexander Volta. The unique interior features several fascinating inventions and experiments that helped to shape the world of science.
The best way to travel in Como is by foot or bike, as most attractions are centrally located near each other. For longer journeys or further explorations, you can take taxis or buses, or use the city's public transportation system which is affordable, reliable and efficient.
If you have more time, consider taking a day trip to Bellagio, Varenna, or Menaggio to explore the surrounding areas. If you have less time, skip Brunate and the Funicular Railway, and spend more time at Villa Olmo and Lake Como, which offers plenty of things to see and do.
