The National Archaeological Museum contains a vast collection of ancient Greek artifacts- the most impressive of which is the Mask of Agamemnon.
End the day with a climb up to the summit of Mount Lycabettus-the best spot to watch the sunset over the city. On the top, you’ll also find a little cafe-restaurant and a chapel.
Public transport is efficient and cost-effective. The most convenient way to move around would be the Metro as it is frequent and covers most parts of the city. Taxis and Ubers are also available if needed, but might be more expensive. Expect travel costs to range around €10-€15 for the total day.
If you have more time, consider a visit to the Benaki Museum or a stroll through the Athens National Gardens. If you have less time, consider skipping the Ancient Agora, though it is still a great place to visit. Skip visiting the Mount Lycabettus if you don't have the energy for the hike.
Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH) is located about 12 miles east of Athens, approximately a 35-minute drive or €30 by taxi or Uber.
