2-Day Itinerary for Kerala in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kochi
    40 minutes (22.4km) from Cochin International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, and see its beautiful murals depicting Hindu epics. Afterwards, explore the Jewish Quarter and its historic synagogue. For lunch, head to the nearby Fort Kochi Beach and try some fresh seafood from the stalls. In the afternoon, visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and learn about its rich history. End the day with a Kathakali dance performance, a traditional Kerala art form, at the Cochin Cultural Centre.

  2. Day 2: Munnar
    4 hours (126.5km) from Kochi

    Start your day with a visit to the Tata Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea in India and enjoy a tea tasting. Afterwards, drive to the Eravikulam National Park and go on a trek to see the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. For lunch, head to the nearby Saravana Bhavan and try some delicious South Indian cuisine. In the evening, visit the Mattupetty Dam and go on a boat ride to enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding hills and tea gardens.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the backwaters of Alleppey and going on a houseboat tour or explore the hill station of Wayanad for some adventurous activities like trekking and camping.
