Relaxing 7-Day Itinerary for Ladhak in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Leh
    Leh Airport to Leh (5.9 miles, 20 minutes)

    In the morning, visit Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa for panoramic views of the city. In the afternoon, explore the local markets for souvenirs and traditional Ladakhi handicrafts. In the evening, enjoy a cup of Ladakhi butter tea while admiring the sunset from Tsemo Fort.

  2. Day 2: Nubra Valley
    Leh to Nubra Valley (123 miles, 5 hours)

    Start the day early and drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, the highest motorable pass in the world. Visit Diskit Monastery, Hunder Sand Dunes, and take a camel safari. In the evening, relax at your campsite and stargaze.

  3. Day 3: Pangong Lake
    Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (140 miles, 6 hours)

    Leave early in the morning and drive to Pangong Lake, stopping at Chang La Pass for stunning views. Spend the day admiring the crystal blue waters of the lake and the surrounding majestic mountains. In the evening, watch the sunset and camp by the lake.

  4. Day 4: Leh
    Pangong Lake to Leh (137 miles, 6 hours)

    Drive back to Leh. Visit the Hall of Fame museum, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and Magnetic Hill. In the evening, relax at your hotel and enjoy a traditional Ladakhi dinner.

  5. Day 5: Sham Valley
    Leh to Sham Valley (35 miles, 1 hour)

    Visit the Alchi Monastery, known for its ancient wall paintings. Explore the Basgo Palace and Likir Monastery. In the evening, enjoy a nature walk and visit the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers.

  6. Day 6: Hemis National Park
    Leh to Hemis National Park (31 miles, 1 hour)

    Take an early morning drive to Hemis National Park for a chance to spot the elusive snow leopard and other wildlife. Visit the Hemis Monastery, the largest monastery in Ladakh. In the evening, relax at your hotel and enjoy a traditional Ladakhi meal.

  7. Day 7: Leh
    Hemis National Park to Leh (31 miles, 1 hour)

    On your last day in Ladakh, take a leisurely walk around the town and visit some of the local cafes and restaurants. In the afternoon, take a flight back home with unforgettable memories of the peaceful and serene Ladakh.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day, consider visiting Tso Moriri, another beautiful high-altitude lake. You can also try trekking in Ladakh, which offers some of the most scenic and challenging treks in the world. For adventure seekers, river rafting in the Zanskar River is also a great option. Don't forget to try the local Ladakhi cuisine, which is a unique blend of Indian and Tibetan flavors.
