For the major city stops, trains are the recommended mode of transportation; consider purchasing a Eurail pass for cost-affordability. For shorter trips, taxi and public transport options are available. Expect longer travel times for train trips to complete distances between each of these cities, at 2-10 hours based on destination.
If time permits, consider adding Berlin, Paris, or London to the itinerary based on your preferences. Eliminating stops in either Croatia or Italy would provide a more concise and shorter journey.
