3-Day Tokyo Itinerary - October 2023

  1. Day 1: Tokyo Tower
    20 minutes (3.5 km) from Shibuya Crossing

    In the morning, head to Tokyo Tower, a 333-meter-high communication and observation tower. Enjoy a bird's eye view of Tokyo from its observation deck. For lunch, head to Tsukiji Market for fresh sushi and seafood. In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Palace, the residence of the Emperor of Japan. Walk through the East Gardens and learn about Japan's feudal period. In the evening, head to Shinjuku, Tokyo's most vibrant district, for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

  2. Day 2: Sensō-ji Temple
    25 minutes (6 km) from Shinjuku

    Start your day at Sensō-ji, Tokyo's oldest temple. Explore its colorful buildings and Nakamise Shopping Street. For lunch, visit Kappabashi-dori, a street famous for kitchenware and plastic food samples. In the afternoon, visit the Tokyo National Museum, Japan's oldest and largest museum, to learn about the country's history and culture. In the evening, go to Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku for a unique and entertaining show.

  3. Day 3: Mount Fuji
    2 hours (130 km) from Tokyo

    Take a day trip to Mount Fuji, Japan's most iconic landmark. Take a bus or train to the Fuji Five Lakes area and take a cruise on Lake Ashi. Then, take the Mount Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani, a volcanic valley with hot springs. Enjoy the scenic view of Mount Fuji from a distance. In the evening, head back to Tokyo and visit Odaiba, a man-made island with shopping malls, museums, and a Ferris wheel.

If you have more time, consider visiting Kyoto, Japan's cultural capital, for a day trip. The Shinkansen bullet train takes only 2 hours from Tokyo.
