4-Day Family-Friendly Trip to Tuljapur, Akkalkot, Pandharpur, Kolhapur and Jejuri in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Tuljapur Tuljabhavani Temple
    Approximately 22 km (30 minutes) from Solapur Airport

    In the morning, visit the Tuljapur Tuljabhavani Temple, one of the most popular temples in Maharashtra. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Tuljabhavani and is believed to have been built in the 12th century. Afternoon can be spent exploring the nearby cultural and historical sites like Akkalkot Swami Samarth Temple and the Akkalkot State Museum. In the evening, enjoy the light and sound show at the Tuljabhavani Temple which takes you through the history and mythology of the temple.

  2. Day 2: Pandharpur Vitthal Rukmini Temple
    Approximately 150 km (3 hours) from Tuljapur

    Start the day by visiting the famous Pandharpur Vitthal Rukmini Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Vitthal and his consort Rukmini. The temple is considered one of the holiest places in Maharashtra and attracts millions of devotees every year. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby Pundalik Temple and Vishnupad Temple. In the evening, take a stroll along the Chandrabhaga River and watch the sunset.

  3. Day 3: Kolhapur Mahalakshmi Temple
    Approximately 75 km (2 hours) from Pandharpur

    Visit the Kolhapur Mahalakshmi Temple, one of the most revered shrines in Maharashtra, dedicated to the goddess Mahalakshmi. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture and intricate carvings. Spend the afternoon exploring the Rankala Lake and the nearby New Palace Museum. In the evening, head to the Mahalakshmi Temple to watch the aarti, a beautiful ritual of offering prayers, lamps and flowers to the goddess.

  4. Day 4: Jejuri Malhar Gad
    Approximately 50 km (1.5 hours) from Kolhapur

    Visit Jejuri Malhar Gad, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Khandoba, which is believed to be one of the most powerful and revered shrines in Maharashtra. The temple complex is known for its beautiful architecture and stunning views of the surrounding hills. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby Khandoba Temple and the Jejuri Fort. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Maharashtrian meal and cultural performance before heading back to your hotel.
