4-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Shimla in July 2023

  1. Day 1: The Ridge
    10 minutes (2.6 km) from Shimla Railway Station

    The Ridge is a spacious open area in the heart of Shimla and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Start your day with a stroll along the Ridge, where you can enjoy the cool breeze and take in the picturesque view of the city. Afternoon, visit the Christ Church which is located on the Ridge itself. This neo-Gothic structure, built in the 19th century, is a famous landmark of Shimla.   2. Day 2: Kufri
    1 hour 15 minutes (16 km) from Shimla

    Start your day early and take a scenic drive to Kufri, a small hill station located just outside of Shimla. Afternoon, visit the Viceregal Lodge, which was once the summer residence of the British Viceroy Lord Dufferin. In the evening, take a stroll along Mall Road, which is a popular shopping and dining destination in Shimla.

  4. Day 4: Tara Devi Temple
    35 minutes (12 km) from Shimla

    Start your day with a scenic drive to Tara Devi Temple, located on top of a hill. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Tara and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Afternoon, visit the Sankat Mochan Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is located in a serene and peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, take a toy train ride on the Kalka-Shimla Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
