Recommendations

Don't miss out on a scenic train ride from Colombo to Kandy through the picturesque Sri Lankan countryside. In Kandy, visit the famous Temple of the Tooth, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Another recommended side trip is to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can see and even bathe with the elephants. If you're looking for some adventure, don't miss out on the white-water rafting and hiking expeditions in Kitulgala. Finally, make sure to try out some authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, such as hoppers, kottu, and string hoppers.
