2-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Lonavala in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Bhushi Dam
    20 minutes (6.2 km) from Lonavala Bus Stand

    Morning: Visit Bhushi Dam early in the morning to avoid the crowds. The beauty of the dam in monsoon is breathtaking. Enjoy a peaceful walk on the dam, take a dip in the cold water, and relax amidst the lush green surroundings.

    Afternoon: Head to Lonavala Square Mall for some shopping and lunch. There are plenty of street vendors and small shops selling local items and delicious food. Try the famous Vada Pav, Misal Pav, and Bhajiyas.

    Evening: Spend your evening at Lonavala Lake, located just a 5-minute walk from the mall. Take a boat ride, enjoy the sunset or have a picnic with your friends or family.

  2. Day 2: Rajmachi Point and Kune Waterfalls
    50 minutes (16.5 km) from Bhushi Dam

    Morning: Start your day early and drive to Rajmachi Point. The view of Rajmachi Fort from here is stunning. You can also trek to the fort from here. The trek is moderate and takes around 2 hours.

    Afternoon: Drive to Kune Waterfalls, located just 20 minutes from Rajmachi Point. The waterfall is at its best in June. Enjoy the cool and refreshing water and take some beautiful photos of the waterfall and the lush green surroundings.

    Evening: Drive back to Lonavala and visit the Celebrity Wax Museum. The museum has a collection of wax statues of famous personalities from different fields. The museum is open until 7 pm, so make sure to reach there before closing time.

Lonavala is a beautiful place with plenty of things to do. Apart from the places mentioned in the itinerary, you can also consider visiting Karla Caves, Lohagad Fort, and Lion's Point. For side trips, you can visit Khandala, which is just 5 km from Lonavala. You can also go trekking in the nearby hills or visit the local farms and learn about organic farming. To maximize your fun, plan your trip during the monsoon season and enjoy the lush green surroundings and waterfalls. Don't forget to carry your raincoat or umbrella and wear comfortable shoes.
